FAQ’s
Where do the parties take place?
You have two options – the birthday party can take place in your own garden. We will bring everything we need on the day. Alternatively, you can visit us at the ‘party-tunnel’ on Bere Farm, in Lytchett Matravers, for a charge of £10.
There is a cafe on-site for parents to relax in and we’ll entertain the kids.
Can you cater for large groups of children?
We can accommodate up to 35-40 children at Bere Farm, ideal if you wanted to join up with friends to offer joint parties for more than one child. Once activities are confirmed, we would split the children up into smaller groups and have different activity stations for the children to visit. We would ask that you provide one adult helper for every member of NWFK staff (2 adults per 12 kids).
Do I need to prepare the garden at all?
If you select activities that involve planting directly into the garden, it might be best to prepare the ground a little. We’d be happy to pop round to check and if necessary do this for you if required at a small cost.
What ages are the parties suitable for?
Most parties would be suitable for 4 year olds and above. The odd activity might be tricky for little fingers but if you are in any doubt, please just call.
What happens if it is raining on the party day?
We have an 3m x 4.5m outdoor gazebo which will protect us on rainy days.
If the weather is too poor to use our gazebo, the party can be transferred free-of-charge to the NWFK ‘party-tunnel’ at Bere Farm, Lytchett Matravers .
What do the children need to wear?
Wellies and clothes that are OK to get a bit mucky would be best. We provide gardening gloves and aprons for painting activities.
What safety precautions are in place?
We ensure that all of the necessary safety precautions are taken throughout our events and parties. All of our party helpers are CRB checked and generally come from a child care background.
In addition, we will complete a Risk Assessment of all locations prior to the event taking place.
I would like you to run a workshop for our organisation, is this possible?
No problem, just give us a call and we can discuss your requirements regarding time and activities. As long as the date is free in the diary then it’s all systems go!
How long do your workshops last for?
Generally we allow two hours for the activities but this generally depends of the number of children attending.
What activities take place at the workshop?
All workshops are based on a wildlife or gardening theme, incorporating plenty of craft and planting activities. There will always be take-home goodies aswell.
